English Art Works is a London jeweller and silversmith devoted to vintage jewellery, silverware, gentlemen’s accoutrements and objets d’art chosen for beauty, character and feeling.
Each piece is considered individually. Where appropriate, brightness is returned, silver gently polished and fittings carefully attended to before the piece is offered directly.
The aim is simple: beauty returned, character kept, and every material fact described with precision.
The Workshop
The workshop is where care becomes visible.
Pieces are considered with a light hand, with attention to proportion, surface and construction. Some need only gentle brightening; others require more considered restoration.
The work should never overpower the piece. Age remains part of its charm, while beauty and usefulness are quietly renewed.
Restoration is judgement, restraint and respect for what already exists. Interventions are considered individually, with the aim of returning beauty without erasing age or character.
A softened edge, a mellow surface or the gentle polish of use can belong to a piece. These qualities are preserved where they contribute to its appeal.
